Suddenly I am transported to SJ&A 1997, the first time we secured the one million dollar contract through the song Asyik Asyik. That was the Age of Facade. I was living in a make-believe world. In reality, I was living in a House of Cards.
There is a certain peculiarity about the Indo Dozen. There is a basic Eastern Innocence throughout the playlist. It's a story of Eastern Love. Of how the Easterners pay tribute to love - Sempurna (Perfect). I can only feel that kind *[] (of) love with Els.
* As usual, you are right my darling.
Minah Gadis Dusun is all of us. We are all from the dusun. Again, the theme is innocence. Very refreshing vision this song is. It reminds me to be evergreen and cheerful. I like her pitch. I think it is a perfect pitch. I am emotionally swept by the singing. A contrast between two illustrations; dusun and kota.
Balada Seorang Biduan is simply ART! I imagin[g] (imagine) I am listening to the Three Tenors. So intoxicating. It gives me goosebumps. Din's Indo Dozen is indeed my finest playlist so far.
Aaahh Sarah, if you love keroncong, nothing beats Dingin. Notice the vibrato in the background. Hetty is a powerful singer. Very smooth execution. I don't need dope to get high on this song.
Jali-jali is another powerful keroncong. The vocal here is exceptional. I like the wind execution in this song. Very distinctive. Furthermore, the vocal is truly excellent with the accent and everything. An ethnic singer will not be able to execute *i[s] (it) as elegantly as her.
* I see, Jali-jali by Rumput is you[] favorite keroncong.
Now, Abang Beca is about versatility. Notice the string instrument. Sorry, I don't know how to describe it. So many variations in a simple song. Oh well, the song makes me want to dance and hop around LOL.
Personally, I think of Fatwa Pujangga as a very melodic poem. It reminds me of you. There is a certain sadness when I think about our fate, Sarah.
The sadness will last forever - Van Gogh
Oh... Sarah Sarah... My darling Sarah.
Seroja is about the instruments. This is another intoxicant. Fuh... I am in heaven with this Laskar Pelangi version. A motivational song for me.
I like this version of Yang Penting Hepi. Everything about this song resonates with simplicity. Dangdut is a folksong. Much like Hip Hop. The rhythm is the same. The synthesizer is the leading instrument. A humble synthesizer LOL. Plus I like looking at chicks from the Boondock. They have a certain peculiar spicy aroma. Either you love it or you hate it. I LEARN to love it hahaha...
Curi-curi is kinda cute. It reminds me of my little brother, Jad when we were small. He could barely talk at that time but he kept repeating curi curi curi (meaning steal). I like this vocal quality very much. I also like the tempo of their songs. Much like listening to Bob Marley.
Now, this Bete song is a deception. They may look like Street Walkers but the truth is they are the Boondock's hardcore! Hahaha... How do I know? From the dialect that they use. Look it up. Not in the dictionary hahaha... What the hell is bete, keki, sebel OMG!
Now here is my challenge. Is there any contender for Yang Remeh dan Yang Temeh? I looked high and low. None... This might as well *[] (be) the best Malay song ever!
* I rest my case. Another goosebump.
